My Mini 10v hackintosh was running 10.6.3 before the upgrade. The upgrade was a simple process of following the instructions from http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/general-mac-os-x-discussion/21481-official-mac-os-x-10-6-4-update-thread.html.
- Download and run NetbookInstaller
- Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.4 Combo Update
- Restart Dell Mini 10v
To update the hackintosh laptop from Mac OS X 10.6.4 to Mac OS X 10.6.5
- Run NetbookInstaller again
- Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.5 Combo Update
- Restart Dell Mini 10v
That’s it. My Dell Mini 10v is now running Mac OS X 10.6.5.

Hope the upgrade goes well for you too. I did a Time Machine backup before upgrading, just in case. The backup took around 4 hours to complete. The backup wasn’t really needed coz the upgrade went smoothly.

Looks like my wife inadvertently hit the automatic upgrade. I think it automatically rebooted and I am seeing the eternal wheel.
Not sure if anyone has come across this kind of issue.
I tried upgrading my Dell/mac mini and it wont work now. It loads up but after the apple disappears a blue screen is all i see. please help.
Hi Ike, you’ll get better help from the mydellmini forum. There are lots of hackintosh laptop experts there who will be able to assist you. I did not encounter any problem upgrading my dell 10v, so can’t help you much there.

We’ll I still haven’t done the mighty upgrade from 10.6.1 > etc etc (not even sure if I should jump right to 10.6.5???)
Anyways…I been holding back cause of all the others I read having issues.
Also and this one is a big one!…I have it triple booting (Windows XP, Ubuntu and Mac OSX) my boot partition is running grub/linux to choose between OSs, when I click Mac OSX then it loads into Cameleon and loads Mac OSX.
My question…has anyone else done the upgrade with such triple booting? Any links out there on the interwebs?…Thanks again Vic and peeps.
Hi Kaos, I salute u for triple booting your hackintosh laptop. I wanted to try it, but the amount of work required made me back off. I’m happy that Mac OSX does everything I need it to do.
